Pius' Story

I am an intent listener who focuses on the unique needs of each patient. As an Advanced Practice Nurse and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I want to truly understand what is going on in their lives to best help them address their mental health issues.

I draw on my extensive experience in mental health nursing to properly assess, diagnose, and create a treatment plan for Modern Psychiatry’s adult patients. In this way, I play an important role in patient follow-up, monitoring progress in meeting treatment goals, assessing how well the treatment plan is working, recommending changes as needed, and prescribing and monitoring medication use to assess the efficacy of a patient’s medication regimen. 

A life-long interest in health and its importance to an individual’s overall wellbeing motivated me to pursue a career in mental health. I believe that a positive first impression makes all the difference in serving patients and helping them address their issues. “Patients relax and open up when they are comfortable. Only then can we as mental health practitioners thoroughly assess their needs and help them move forward in their lives.”
