Felix’s Story

As a Psychiatrist and Founder of Modern Psychiatry, my goal is constant: to restore a patient to the highest quality of life an individual can achieve. For me, personally and professionally, that’s a dedicated 24/7 proposition.

In addition to working with individual patients for almost 15 years, it’s been my vision to bring together a group of medical professionals dedicated to working as a team to provide mental health services to individuals. That vision became a reality in 2023 when I founded Modern Psychiatry.

While there may never be guarantees in medical outcomes, one thing I knew I could be sure of was my team. I’ve hand-selected professionals with whom I’ve previously worked and trained – professionals I knew I could count on for their unflinching commitment guiding patients to a better place in their lives.

Modern Psychiatry’s mission is to treat the whole patient. The practice’s therapists, case managers, medical doctors, and advanced practice nurses identify their patients’ immediate issue and work to understand it and develop a treatment plan within the context of an individual’s life, family, work, and relationships. “Patients are often relieved that the goal is not to just treat a condition but also to improve their quality of life.

“It takes much strength and resolve for an individual to schedule a mental health appointment.” But I always start with a conversation, taking the time to first learn about the person. This helps individuals breathe easier at the end of the initial session. “The clinical session comes later.”

My approach is always individualized. “Person-to-person, it’s never the same … except that is, for the empathy, dedication, and listening that gets patients on a path to a better quality of life.

The words I live by also play a part in my approach to fully serving my patients’ needs. “Place a 110% effort into everything you do.”
