Kasia’s Story

From my first clinical rotation in mental health, I knew that this was what I wanted to do. Today, as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, “I can offer people compassion and hope for the future.”

My patients come to me wanting the best possible quality of life. They live with depression, dementia, anxiety, insomnia, mood disorder, schizophrenia, addictions, adjustment disorders due to various changes in life stages. Because they typically have many medical issues that also come into play, I work with them to ensure the best outcomes for both physical and mental health.

First and foremost, I am their advocate. Open, honest communication, a non-judgmental approach, and respectful attitude work best for my patients to open up. I try to make every patient feel comfortable and safe by being a good listener.

I describe myself as compassionate, open-minded, and caring. Outside of work, I am an avid reader and animal lover, and have three cats and a dog. I love houseplants and gardening and spending time outdoors in nature. I speak fluent Polish and go by Kasia, which is my Polish name.
